  6. Please remember that there are many dog trainers and behaviorists who claim to use only positive reinforcement, or 'holistic' healing methods with aggressive dogs. While these methods can work and are great for teaching new commands, even curbing certain other behavior problems, they do not normally provide the structure and discipline (not punishment) necessary for reliable aggression rehabilitation. An aggressive dog is not only a law suit waiting to happen, but is unbalanced, unstable and obviously unhappy and using positive reinforcement and/or food to redirect a dog's attention from its 'target' can and usually does totally backfire. When is the last time you saw one dog using food to 'bribe' another dog to do something?
